Example Lotus Domino sites created by Tagish

The following is a selection of some of the internet sites or site elements, driven by Lotus Domino and created by Tagish. The purpose of this page is to give organisations contemplating the development of internet or intranet facilities in Domino an idea of the sorts of things which have gone before. Sadly, the examples on this page do not convey a full impression; intranet versions of these pages, and Notes Client views of data in the Domino database can be used within an organisation to provide very much more information than is conveyed to the general internet user. A couple of links are given to some of the sites listed below; necessity for two links arises out of the use of frames on target sites. The second link we give is normally given in the format "go here and then press this".

Accommodation

  • Oxford's Accommodation database
Oxford City Council provide comprehensive details of all Accommodation in the city; the application is accessible from the Oxford website by following the Accomodation menu item. The Domino server is hosted at Tagish, and Oxford personnel maintain the data in a Notes application on a local PC, replicating the data up to tagish via the internet.

Company Websites

  • Tagish
Most of our own site is Domino driven, although there are areas of exception. From the home page, all menu links on the left hand menu are to Domino databases.

Information Provision

  • Computer Information Centre
The Computer Information Centre disseminates a moderately large amount of current data on the IT Industry, and is entirely Domino driven. The content is held in multiple databases. Data in the system is maintained in a couple of locations via Notes clients, which replicate with the server via the internet to keep it up to date. The system also has intranet components which enable it to be deployed on networks which, for security reasons, are unconnected to the internet.

  • European Telematics Horizontal Observatory Service
ETHOS provides information on the European telematics market to researchers of European Union's DG-XIII Telematics Application Programme. It is composed of a few tens of Domino databases.

Integrated Local Authority Sites

  • Bedfordshire County Council
Bedfordshire Online, the County's Internet presence, is produced entirely within the Notes/Domino environment. Domino enables users at Bedfordshire to publish and maintain information without any requirement to understand the intricacies of HTML and link maintenance. Of special interest (we think) are such things as the search engine, with its very effective way of categorising returned information according to the database in which the information is stored.

Legal Services

  • Nottinghamshire Community Legal Service Pioneer
On 11 December 1998 the Lord Chancellor announced that five local authorities were to become 'Pioneers' for the Community Legal Service. Nottinghamshire County Council is one of the chosen pioneers, and commissioned a Domino website to assist in sharing information between the Pioneer partners.

Local Authority Partnerships

  • Norfolk & Waveny Information Area
The Norfolk & Waveney Information Area is a partnership of authorities, the independent websites of which are linked together using Domino technology. The central idea behind the original NWIA interface was to provide a means by which citizens ouf the county could locate a council service, whether or not they were certain which council provided it. The scope of NWIA has now been extended to the development of other databases which will be applied across all of the authorities. The NWIA concept has also been adopted by other Counties.
